Agricultural Science and Technology Education (ASTE) Program
Serving accepted students from area towns such as Litchfield, Warren, Morris, Goshen, Burlington, Harwinton, Plymouth, Terryville, Thomaston, and Torrington, Lakeview High School’s Agricultural Science and Technology Education Program (ASTE) prepares students for future opportunities in the areas of animal science, agribusiness, agricultural mechanics, aquaculture, biotechnology, food science, natural resources, plant science, and more. Students engage in a hands-on curriculum that integrates applied core subject area skills and knowledge, as well as leadership opportunities and work-based learning experiences through the National FFA Organization and Supervised Agricultural Experiences, designed and implemented by the students themselves.
Students enrolled in the ASTE Program are required to successfully complete the following courses by grade level:
The required courses above are used in part to fulfill the graduation requirements outlined in Board policy, including those related to STEAM, required electives, and the Mastery Based Diploma Assessment.
